Android Users Can Now Backup Their WhatsApp Messages, Photos and other Informations to Google Drive

World’s #1 Instant Messaging platform, WhatsApp keep souring with innovative ideas to maintain it role of leadership as it recently partnered google, allowing it users to easily backup it chat information and media files to Google Drive with the click of a button.

With this development, Google drive will be rolling out a feature that will allow WhatsApp users to back up their WhatsApp messages and contents, regularly on Android.

whatsapp-to-google-driveWhatsApp co-founder, Brian Acton made the announcement stating the objectives and function of the development;

…you don’t want your memories stuck on your phone. (What if something happens?!) So starting today, WhatsApp for Android lets you create a private backup of your chat history, voice messages, photos, and videos in Google Drive. And once you do, you can restore everything on a new device with just a couple taps.

The new backup feature is rolling out over the next few months, so keep an eye on your WhatsApp settings to see if it’s available. In the meantime, please visit our Help Center if you have questions about today’s update. And check out our developer site if you’d like to integrate your app with Google Drive.
