There is a little problem though. Your contacts! In as much as you would want to migrate to the latest releases of iPhone, there is need to ensure that you transit with your contacts as well.
Instead of typing out contacts one-by-one to your new iPhone, you can simply transfer all of them in bulk. Sounds great, right. Apple has always been seen as a great brand. Contact. Transfer is one of the unique features that define iPhone.
So, how do you go about transferring contacts from your old iPhone to the new one?
Make sure that both the new and old iPhones are Wi-Fi activated. This is because the entire process of transferring contacts will require a constant Internet connection. To confirm is your Wi-Fi function is activated, you will have to check the iPhone settings and trace the networks section.
Confirm if your device is logged into your iCloud account. Checking the settings of your iPhone can do this. Once there, you will find the iCloud icon. If by any chance your Apple ID appears at the top of the display page, then it means that you have already logged into your iCloud account.
Make sure that the ‘sync contacts’ option is toggled on. This should be done as soon as you log into your iCloud application.
Important to note, all the mentioned settings should be done on the other iPhone. Only then will contact details be transferred.
When you are prompted to select from a backup, go for ‘Restore FromiCloud Backup’. This is chosen in case you have decided to use iCoud contact transfer instead of iTunes. You should then select the latest backup in order to prompt the restoration process. The duration that the restoration process will take depends on how strong your Internet connection is.
You can opt to back up your iPhone contacts through iTunes. If that is the case, then you will have to follow the following steps:
Plug in your iPhone to your Mac or even PC. Hold on for a while to allow your iPhone application to display on your Mac or PC. On your left hand-side, you will find an icon labeled ‘info’. Click on it and ensure that the sync function is enabled.
On the summary page of the display, click on ‘back-up now’ to give room for back-up. Once done, ensure that your first iPhone is plugged out of Mac or PC.
Go to your new iPhone and follow the prompt provided. In this case, you should opt for ‘Restore from iTunes Backup’. Plug the new iPhone to your mac and follow the same procedure as before. However, it will get to a point where you will be asked to restore back-up from iTunes. At this juncture, you should select backup from your old iPhone. This will transfer contacts to your new iPhone.
