The smartphone features a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution, it is cased inside a 10 mm-thick plastic body with dust and water resistance (IP57 certified). HTC Butterfly 3 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC’s Sense 7 UI afloat.

The smartphone is powered by a 64 bit-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset alongside its associates: two sets of quad-core Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 CPUs running at 1.5GHz and 2GHz respectively, Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The handset has 32GB of built-in storage as well as space for memory expansion via a microSD card slot. The phone is backed by a 2700mAh non removable battery for electricity and thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 function, the battery can attain 60 percent charge in as little as 30 minutes.

Talking about camera, the phone comes with a 20.2 MP camera. The camera is flanked by a 3D secondary rear sensor and dual tone LED flash just like the HTC One M8. The Butterfly 3 features a 13-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. The device’s connectivity prowess includes LTE, NFC, Infrared, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11.

HTC Butterfly 3 is priced 19,900 Taiwanese dollars which is approximately an equivalent of 600 US dollars. The handset will be available in Taiwan starting from October 20. Plans for global availability hasn’t been made known.
