How to Fix “Unfortunately, Google Play Services Has Stopped”

There are different reasons for Google play services error, and we are going to discuss the different methods of solving this setback. The cause of this error is not very clear but it usually comes up when you are making some changes to the settings of the Android Operating System. 1. Empty cache

One of the workarounds for this problem is emptying the cache of the system app Google Play Services. You can do the same by heading to the Settings of your Android smartphone and then tap on ‘Applications’ or ‘App Management’ (the name might differ device to device but you should be able to understand which option is for applications).

Now once you are in the app manager, you will see a couple of ‘Tabs’ at the top of the page such as All, Installed, Running and so on. You need to click on ‘All’ and then find the ‘Google Play Services’ app (normally, the apps are listed alphabetically, so you can simply scroll down to ‘G’ and locate the ‘Google Play Services’ and tap on it. You will find the option to ‘Clear Cache’ for the app. If you don’t see the ‘Clear Cache’ option, there should be ‘Storage’ option, tap on it, and here you will find the ‘Clear Cache’. If your Google Play services error did not fix by clearing the cache, we suggest you reset the app preferences. For doing so, go to Application Manager the same way as you did in above step. Now try to locate the ‘Reset the App Preferences’ option. It could be at the top right, bottom, or anywhere on the page depending on the phone you are using. In my case, I am performing this step on LeEco phone and ‘Reset the app preferences’ is placed at the bottom’. I assume that you have found the ‘Reset app preferences’, so now tap on it and you are done here. Now just restart your Android phone and see if the crappy message “unfortunately, google play services has stopped” still appears.
