If you love Fifa and Real Madrid is your favourite football club then you are in for a treat as Fifa and Electornic Arts has signed a deal following which fans can get exclusive content and HD 3D scans.
The announcement was made via blog post and it seems FIFA ’16 would come in a very different way. Amid the new additions, gamers should now able to play an all-new FIFA 16 player tournament, featuring the Real Madrid squad. Furthermore, gaming experience has been enhanced, especially when it comes to the club’s home ground, Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
14 players have been picked off the squad who are set to get an exclusive 3D head scan, thanks to which gamers are likely to experience better graphics than previous versions. Top players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Toni Kroos are set to be included within the list. EA claims that Real Madrid was hand-picked by the company, much of which is credited to the fan-base that the club has around the world.
Jamie McKinlay, VP of marketing at EA Sports, seemed full of praises for Real Madrid as he spoke about the deal, saying: “We’re honored to welcome Real Madrid as an official partner club and the opportunity to bring fans even closer to the team through unique experiences and authentic player likeness in the game. Real Madrid is one of the most popular clubs in the world and that’s also true within our game; we are looking forward to building a deeper connection with the club in the coming year.”
Similar scenes were there to be seen at the club, where the director of institutional relations, Emilio Butrageuno, claimed that the club was proud to have partnered with the gaming franchise that currently holds the spot as the leader in the market for football videogames.
Soon after the news broke, fans were quick to compare the new features to what PES 2016 may offer. However, Adam Bhatti, the product manager for PES, seemed unimpressed with the latest addition to the franchise, claiming that it wouldn’t make much of an impact in helping FIFA outstrip PES.
The news comes in only a day after EA announced that a female football player, Alex Morgan of USWNT, is set to be the cover-star for the game in the United States, alongside Lionel Messi. As for Canada, Christine Sinclair, the Canadian forward features alongside Lionel Messi.
David Pekush, senior global product marketing manager at EA Sports, spoke to Yahoo! Sports, saying: “We actually made the decision to put Alex on the cover several months ago before the Women’s World Cup. We knew and we wanted to celebrate women’s soccer. And the fact that the women won the World Cup, it’s really icing on the cake for us.”
