Apple Top Designer Susan Kare Joins Pinterest’s Creative Team


Susan KareAn early Apple designer, Susan Kare who is behind some of the company’s early icons has joined Pinterest.

According to the company, she will be part of the Pinterest’s team as a product design lead. Kare is the woman behind many of Apple’s popular original icons like the Lasson and Paint Bucket and worked for Steve Jobs at NeXT as creative director. She is the one also behind the Chicago typeface, which was used in many of the early iPods.

As Pinterest head of engineering Michael Lopp reveals, designers are the voice of users. Good designs brings users back over and over and spend more time on the site. hat means that those users can more readily be monetized, and Pinterest can continue to make money.

This is another superb designer Pinterest just hired. But it’s important for the company to keep employing not only made designers and product managers/ Pinterest’s teams are organized in such a way that all three roles work closely together and mesh well.

Pinterest has been aggresively building its buiness, products and also new marketing tools.

At Pinterest, Kare will be one of the leads responsible for Pinterest’s interface on its apps and website. She doesn’t have any specific projects yet, but some examples of projects would be designing things like Buyable Pins or App Pins.
