Apple Pay works at Stores and in apps that accept it. It would be only available for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users, and also Apple Watch users who have an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 or 6 Plus. In-app purchases using Apple Pay cab be made using an iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3, iPhone 6 or iPhone 5 Plus.
Apple Pay site says the banks and credit card companies in the launch include American Express, First Direct, HSBC, Nationwide, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, and Ulster Bank. Other banks such as Barclays, MBNA, TSB are not yet taking part.
Anyone with cards from those banks can add them to Passbook and use the Apple Pay service later today. More than 250,000 locations in the UK currently support Apple Pay on the launch day, including fast food restaurants like McDonalds and KFC, as well as shops like Boots, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose.
